Skin Rejuvenation with Cutera Xeo LimeLight

( 500-1800nm )

LimeLight

It takes about 30-minutes in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin. The LimeLight treatment then causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness, pigment and age lines. The procedure involves only minimal discomfort, while the redness and swelling that sometimes occur after treatment disappear shortly. Most benefits of the LimeLight occur gradually in the weeks following the series of treatments.

Limelight can erase skin damage and treat a variety of skin conditions, such as:
· Broken capillaries
· Sun and smoke damage
· Small Veins
· Mild acne scars
· Enlarged pores
· Dull complexion
· Uneven pigmentation
· Pigmented freckles and age spots
· Red flushing skin (including Rosacea)
· Liver spots
· Fine lines and wrinkles

How LimeLight works for skin rejuvenation

Pigmented spots and areas of redness selectively absorb the intense pulsed light delivered by our Cutera LimeLight treatment, resulting in cosmetic improvement, without peeling the skin. The process will leave the skin with a clearer, glowing, youthful appearance – making this one of our most popular procedures.

What happens during a treatment?

You will receive a full consultation with a fully trained therapist who will assess your suitability for the treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Your therapist will advise you on the best course of treatment; this will depend on your age, your skin condition, the severity of your condition and your lifestyle.

Your therapist will apply a cooling gel to the area being treated to ensure that the light energy from LimeLight achieves the best results.

After your treatment, the cooling gel will be removed and a sunscreen lotion will be applied.A course of treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results, the length of which will depend on the condition being treated and its severity.

Who is CANNOT have the LimeLight procedure?
LimeLight cannot be used on:
Dark skinned patients
Recently tanned patients
Pregnant patients
Patients with Melasma (in most cases I suggest alternative treatments as Intense Pulsed Light can worsen this condition)
Patients who have had chemotherapy, radiation, or used of Accutane in the last 6 months.

Is there any down time associated with LimeLight procedure?
LimeLight involves relatively little discomfort and no downtime. Unlike many laser techniques, the procedure is non-ablative, meaning no skin is removed during treatment. This contributes to the easy recovery and low risk associated with the LimeLight, while allowing patients to return to their everyday routine immediately. In cases where patients have brown spots, the brown spots can get darker, then they will get crusty & fall off in a few days. After treatment the skin may look a little flushed. The flushed look will soon fade away leaving the skin looking younger and rejuvenated.

Things that have to be avoided for 24 hours post treatment:
Working out (sweating)
Hot tub, Hot Sauna, Steam Room
Washing treated area with hot water
No acids, retinols, waxing, scrubs, acne drugs for 5-7 days
