What is Cutera xeo The ProWave LX ?

The ProWave LX overcomes the limits of other IPL technology for hair removal. Lighter and finer hair removal is more easily possible with the better targeting capabilities. The ProWave LX provides a fast, comfortable hair removal treatment for better outcomes on lighter and finer hair, and can be used on small and large areas.

How The ProWave LX Works for Hair Removal

The ProWave LX uses short, safe, controlled pulses of filtered light to remove unwanted hair quickly and effectively. Carefully filtered pulses of light are absorbed by melanin, the pigment found in hair. This absorption process produces heat, which heats the hair, damaging the follicle along with its ability to regenerate. Hundreds of hair follicles are treated with each pulse, making THe ProWave LX a fast and effective way to treat unwanted hair.

What happens during a treatment?

You will receive a full consultation with a fully-trained therapist who will assess your suitability for the treatment and answer any questions that you may have.

Your therapist will advise you on the best course of treatment; this will depend on your skin type, the area to be treated and the colour of your hair.

After your consultation your therapist will perform a test on a patch of your skin before progressing with the treatment.

The Treatment

The hair in the treatment area will be trimmed and a cooling gel applied to ensure that the light energy is used to achieve the best results. The ProWave LX applicator will be placed onto your skin and flashed in a series of shots to treat the area.

Immediately after the treatment your skin may appear a little more pink than usual, but this will fade quickly. The hairs treated will fall out naturally over a period of one to three weeks, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth.

A series of treatments will be necessary to achieve optimal results due to the natural hair growth cycles

Frequently Asked questions

Q.What Areas Can be Treated?

A.The ProWave LX is very effective at removing hair from the all over the face and neck, and from the underarms, legs, bikini-line, chest, arms and back. Long- lasting results are achievable for both men and women with The ProWave LX.

Q.What Hairs Can’t be Treated?

A.Only hairs in the active growth stage can be treated which is why a series of treatments will achieve the best results. Your therapist will explain the different stages of hair-growth during your consultation. Blonde and vellus hairs can be more difficult to treat and therefore it may take longer to see results, your therapist will advise you on the best course of treatment.

Q.Are There Any Side-Effects?

A.Due to the personalised treatment-settings determined by your therapist during consultation, you should not experience any side-effects. A slight reddening of the skin can occur immediately after your treatment, but this is an indication of an effective treatment and will fade very quickly.

Q.How Many Treatments are Required?

A.In most cases noticeable results are achieved after just one treatments, however your therapist will advise you on the best course of treatments for you during your consultation. The number of treatments you will need will be determined by the thickness and colour of your hair, the area to be treated and the hair’s growth cycle. All hair-growth cycles are slightly different and some women, at a mature stage in their life, will sometimes find that some small hairs will appear gradually over time due to increased hormonal activity.

Q.What Should I Do After Treatment?

A.In the days following treatment hairs will still be in place, however, they will slowly be released from the follicle. There is no need to pull or pluck the hairs, they will fall out naturally over a period of one to three weeks after receiving your treatment.

Q.Can This System Be Used With Other Therapies?

A.Yes, clients often have other treatments around the same time as having a ProWave LX treatment. Always advise your therapist during your consultation about any other treatments you have recently received or are planning to have.
